Nicola Wills is an abstract artist living and working in South East
London. She produces work both in oils and pastels using a limited colour palette and paints in an abstract, representative style.

As a keen listener of a wide variety of music she is concerned with the visual interpretation of sound and uses this as insipration for the concepts in her work. There is a strong emotional element to her art as she can often identify her own personal feelings through music. Much of her paintings based on well-known pieces of music portray her emotional responses as well as trying to depict a visual representation through the colour, line flow, texture and movement which are main features of her own individual style.

Nicola has exhibited in several group and solo exhibitions in and
around London and is currently displaying work at the ‘What If...?’
gallery in Dartford, Kent.

This visual artist interprets not just a scene, but the emotional impact on the artist to what is occurring on stage. Here, abstract artist Nicola Wills, employs a warm color pallette and a flowing style to capture the essence
of what a scene
means to her. In thise sense, she transposes a visual image presented in one style and forum into an emotion that is uniquely hers, and then back into a visual image in another style. It is this transformation that sparks the artists' imagination and, for a veiwer,
hopefully the same depth of feeling.
Abstract art not only gives the artist the opportunity to make this unique expression, but through its color and powerful imagery, especially when viewed in a full exhibit, as shown here, has the potential to bring the viewer to the same place.
